Pay Range: $140,000 - $160,000 / anually; based on location and experience.
Hours: Regular business hours Monday-Friday.
Location: Hybrid with the ability to work at our Home Office in Mission Valley, San Diego, California, two days per week, minimum.
Our Accounting Manager directs Chuze's accounting functions and activities, including lease, fixed asset, debt, payroll, inventory, and general accounting. As a Chuze leader, you will develop and oversee a small team of accounting professionals, guide the department to high functionality, and establish and implement strategies for reconciling accounts and reporting financial results.
Lead a team of Senior Accountants, ensuring the department meets the business deliverables through a motivating, collaborative, and accountable environment
Guide Chuze stakeholders in complex account balances such as revenues, inventories, capital expenditure, leases, debt, and stock-based compensation
- Support strategic transactions such as business combinations and debt-related financing via diligence, valuation support, and execution of required journal entries thereafter
- Prepare long-lived asset and indefinite-lived asset impairment analyses and memos

Support month-end close process by reviewing proposed transactions and reconciliations prepared by the staff
Prepare covenant reporting packages for review and delivery to external stakeholders, including loan covenant compliance reporting and private equity quarterly reporting
Work directly with the external auditors in completing year-end audits, including managing requests from planning to year-end fieldwork
Analyze current Chuze processes to identify opportunities and implement efficiencies in the design and execution of internal controls and policies company-wide

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (may be supplemented by work experience)
5+ years of professional experience as an Accountant with at least 2 years in public accounting
Leadership experience with demonstrated ability to motivate and cultivate a team
Recent experience with mid-market or large-cap ERP
Experience applying ASC 842 from the perspective of the lessee for both real estate and equipment leasing arrangements
Demonstrated professional experience applying US GAAP for revenue recognition under ASC 606
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Excel and experience with lease software
Effective analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
Organized, accountable, able to set, reach, and prioritize goals in a continually evolving environment
Capacity to receive and deliver constructive feedback
- Certified Public Accountant
- Professional experience applying US GAAP for leasehold improvements and capital equipment
- Netsuite financial proficiency
- Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English
- Ability to sit for extended periods
- Ability to operate a telephone, computer, and other standard office equipment
