JOB DESCRIPTION
Insight Global is seeking a Medical Assistant for a top healthcare services client. This individual will support providers in a clinic setting by delivering high-quality patient care, assisting with clinical and laboratory procedures, and ensuring smooth daily operations. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong clinical standards and exceptional customer service.
Day-to-Day:
- Provide routine patient care under the direction of physicians or clinical supervisors
- Room patients and prepare them for examinations
- Administer medications, immunizations, EKGs, ear lavages, and assist with minor
- Perform venipuncture and manage laboratory duties (drawing, spinning, prepping samples)
- Maintain and stock exam rooms; clean and sterilize instruments
- Manage patient medical records and enter encounters/test requisitions into the system
- Answer phones, triage calls, and assist with front office functions as needed
- Communicate test results and follow-up instructions to patients per the provider's direction
- Ensure compliance with infection control, OSHA, HIPAA, and company policies
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED
- Nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification or ability to obtain within 180 days of hire
- BLS / CPR certification (AHA or Red Cross) or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Experience administering medications and immunizations under provider supervision
- Ability to perform EKGs
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
- Strong customer service and patient communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
- Prior outpatient or clinic-based experience
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR)
Pay: $25.00 per hour
