Duties
- Lead and supervise campers during daily activities, ensuring safety and engagement at all times
- Plan and implement age-appropriate games, sports, arts and crafts, theater performances, and educational activities
- Manage group behavior through effective classroom management and behavior management techniques
- Provide first aid when necessary, following safety protocols to address minor injuries or health concerns
- Support children with special education needs or those requiring additional assistance in a nurturing manner
- Foster a positive environment that encourages teamwork, respect, and personal growth
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about camper progress or concerns
- Assist with camp setup, cleanup, and maintaining a clean, organized activity space
Skills
- Strong classroom management skills to guide children effectively in various activities
- Knowledge of first aid procedures to respond confidently to emergencies
- Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, or summer camps
- Background in teaching, tutoring, or early childhood education to support developmental milestones
- Ability to manage behavior and promote positive childhood development strategies
- Familiarity with special education practices for inclusive programming
- Excellent communication skills for working with children, parents, and team members
- Enthusiasm for sports coaching, theater arts, or other extracurricular activities that enhance camp programs
- Compassionate attitude aligned with Christian counseling or similar values-based approaches
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations while maintaining a lively and motivating presence
