Duties
- Assist loan officers with the preparation and processing of loan documentation for various mortgage types including FHA, VA, and conventional loans
- Support the loan origination process by gathering necessary borrower information and verifying credit analysis data
- Ensure compliance with all loan regulations such as TILA (Truth in Lending Act), TRID (TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosure), and Fair Housing regulations
- Manage client communication by providing updates on application status and answering inquiries promptly and professionally
- Maintain accurate records using Encompass or similar mortgage servicing software, ensuring all loan files are complete and compliant
- Collaborate with internal teams to facilitate loan processing, underwriting, escrow management, and mortgage services
- Assist in ensuring all loan processing activities adhere to federal and banking regulatory compliance standards
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Loan Officer Assistant or in a similar role within the financial services or banking industry
- Knowledge of FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines, mortgage servicing, underwriting, and lending processes
- Familiarity with industry regulations including TILA, TRID, Fair Housing laws, FHA loans, VA loans, and conventional mortgages
- Strong understanding of credit analysis, loan documentation procedures, and compliance with loan regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and mortgage software such as Encompass or equivalent systems
- Excellent client communication skills coupled with internal communication abilities to coordinate effectively across teams
- Basic math skills including 10-key typing for accurate data entry and escrow calculations
- Ability to stay organized under pressure while managing multiple tasks efficiently
