Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator/Project Manager to join our team. This role combines the critical functions of accurately estimating electrical project costs with overseeing the successful execution of electrical construction projects. You will lead bid preparations, negotiate contracts, and manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure seamless delivery. Your electrical expertise and project management skills will drive efficiency, cost control, and quality across diverse construction projects. Duties
- Prepare comprehensive electrical estimates using industry-standard software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam, ensuring accuracy in pricing, labor, materials, and equipment costs
- Review project plans, specifications, and contracts to develop detailed scope of work and identify potential risks or cost-saving opportunities
- Lead negotiations with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to secure favorable terms and maintain strong professional relationships
- Manage multiple projects from inception through completion, overseeing scheduling, resource allocation, and adherence to project timelines
- Monitor project budgets closely, implementing cost control measures to stay within financial targets while maintaining quality standards
- Coordinate with construction teams on-site to ensure work progresses according to plan, addressing issues proactively
- Ensure compliance with all relevant codes and standards such as NEC (National Electrical Code) and local regulations throughout project execution
Skills
- Extensive experience in construction estimating with a focus on electrical systems and projects
- Strong knowledge of construction management principles and contract administration
- Proficiency in Bluebeam for digital plan review and markup; experience with HeavyBid or similar estimating software is highly desirable
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms
- Deep understanding of NEC standards, electrical codes, and safety regulations applicable to construction sites
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams
