Job Summary
Cottontails Preschool is seeking a reliable, caring, and experienced Daycare Cook to prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks for children. The ideal candidate has a passion for child nutrition, follows food safety standards, and enjoys creating a warm, welcoming environment in the kitchen. This role plays an important part in supporting the health and well-being of our students every day.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, and serve healthy, lunches and snacks according to USDA/state nutrition guidelines for young children
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and storage procedures
- Accommodate children's food allergies and dietary restrictions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen at all times
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment after each meal service
- Ensure meals are served on time according to the daily schedule
- Communicate with the director regarding any food safety concerns, allergy updates, or supply needs
- Follow all NC childcare licensing requirements related to food service
- Assist with light classroom snack prep or special event food needs
- Cover school teacher's lunch break
Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
