Chino Hills Animal Hospital & Pet Resort is seeking a friendly, reliable, and compassionate full-time Room Nurse to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with both people and pets, and is looking to grow within a supportive, fast-paced veterinary environment.
Position Overview
Room Nurses work directly alongside our veterinarians, playing a vital role in patient care and client communication. Responsibilities include obtaining patient histories, recording vitals, assisting with exams and treatments, preparing estimates, and ensuring a smooth flow of appointments throughout the day.
As a Room Nurse, you will serve as a primary support to your assigned veterinarian while also providing exceptional care and service to both patients and clients. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced setting are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and stay informed on all patients under your assigned doctor’s care
- Obtain accurate patient histories and vital signs for each appointment
- Prepare and review upcoming appointments with your doctor (“rounding”)
- Communicate lab results and updates to clients
- Generate estimates and treatment plans
- Process invoicing and payments
- Conduct patient follow-up calls
- Schedule recheck and follow-up appointments
- Verify and update client, patient, and vaccination records
- Prepare discharge instructions for all patients
- Maintain working knowledge of medications and injectable treatments
- Assist with patient handling and restraint as needed

Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Assistant or Room Nurse (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Availability to work full-time (40 hours/week), including one weekend day
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods (up to 10 hours)
- Strong ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Basic knowledge of veterinary medical terminology
- Positive attitude and strong team-oriented mindset
