The primary role of this position is to assist members and potential members by phone with their requests; explain services, respond to problems, and direct requests to other areas as necessary. This position directly impacts the fulfillment of MUCU’s mission by identifying and recommending products and services that may help our members meet their financial goals.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assists members and potential members with their telephone requests, and answers questions about products and services.
- Resolves problems that are within their authority including but not limited to; fee reversal requests, password resets for online banking, ARU, bill pay, remote deposit, ATM/Debit card troubleshooting, VISA issues, and instances of fraud.
- Identifies members’ needs and recommends solutions that may help our members meet their financial goals.
- Assists members by taking their loan applications, opening CDs, super savers, club savings, and other various account related requests that do not involve needing a new membership application.
- Performs back-office tasks/duties such as: debit and VISA card maintenance, bill payment maintenance, safe deposit box billing and maintenance, and processing/reviewing checks through mobile deposit with an emphasis on accuracy and efficiency. Processes member requests received through online banking such as stop payments and data/address changes.
- Maintains up to date knowledge on all remote services offered to members, such as online banking, ARU, bill pay, remote deposit, CU website, and any secure forms.
- Provides support to branch tellers and member service as needed. Including processing member transactions and opening/closing accounts.
- Follows policy and procedures related to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Member Identification Program (MIP) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) daily to ensure compliance with current regulations.
- Strictly adheres to MUCU organizational policies and procedures.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- High School Diploma and two (2) or more years of related financial experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work-related experience should consist of a background in cash operations in a financial institution. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school, or financial industry related curriculum applicable to the financial industry.
- Strong intermediate to advanced skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation and word processing and spreadsheet software programs such as Microsoft Office products.
- Intermediate typing skills to meet production needs of the position.
