Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sign Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing illuminated and non-illuminated signage according to client specifications and industry standards. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, creative problem-solving skills, and attention to detail to install high-quality signs that meet our clients' needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Sign Installation and Maintenance:
- Conduct site surveys to assess installation requirements, including measurements, surface conditions, and accessibility.
- Prepare installation materials, tools, and equipment needed for on-site installation.
- Safely and efficiently install signs using appropriate methods such as mounting, anchoring, and electrical wiring.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure the well-being of oneself and team members during installations.
- Provide excellent customer service during installations, addressing client questions or concerns and representing the company in a professional manner.
- Troubleshoot and repair installed signage including.
Quality Control and Maintenance:
- Inspect fabricated signs for quality and functionality, making any necessary adjustments or repairs to ensure they meet standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the workshop and installation vehicles, including regular maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Monitor inventory levels of materials and supplies, reporting any shortages or discrepancies to management.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in sign installation preferred.
- TDLR Journeyman Sign Electrician License preferred.
- Experience operating high lift trucks (Elliot or similar)
- Strong understanding of fabrication techniques and materials used in sign manufacturing.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and design plans.
- Knowledge of electrical wiring and installation methods for illuminated signs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work alone or in groups
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Vocational training or certification in sign fabrication, welding, or related field preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
- Comfort working in confined spaces, at heights, and in outdoor environments.
- Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends as needed for installations.
Work Schedule:
- This is a full-time position, with a standard workweek of 40 hours.
- Occasional flexibility may be required to accommodate project deadlines or client meetings.
