Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic mental health team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Deliver individual, group, family, and child/youth therapy sessions using evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to support clients experiencing acute mental health emergencies or behavioral crises.
- Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clinical documentation standards and ensure accurate medical documentation in electronic health records (EHR/EMR).
- Engage in case management activities including patient care coordination, progress monitoring, and follow-up assessments to optimize treatment outcomes.
- Utilize telehealth platforms to provide remote counseling sessions while maintaining HIPAA compliance and clinical ethical guidelines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including social workers, medical professionals, and support staff—to deliver holistic care for individuals with co-occurring disorders or developmental disabilities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding procedures, and clinical research to enhance therapeutic effectiveness.
Requirements
- Valid licensure as a Mental Health Counselor (LPC or equivalent) with state-specific certification.
- Proven experience in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, grief counseling, addiction counseling, or psychodynamic therapy.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children, adolescents, individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, or geriatrics.
- Strong skills in crisis management, behavior management, patient assessment, and clinical documentation standards.
- Experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders or chronic pain conditions is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with telehealth technology platforms and experience providing remote mental health services while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Knowledge of ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate diagnosis documentation.
- Excellent communication skills for client engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration.
