Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Check Out/Insurance and Billing Coordinator to join our healthcare team. This role is vital in ensuring accurate billing, insurance processing, and efficient management of patient accounts. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of medical or dental billing procedures, and electronic health record systems to facilitate seamless patient service. Responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance information and eligibility using EMR/EHR systems
- Process insurance claims accurately for dental and medical insurance
- Ensure proper documentation of medical records and coding for billing purposes
- Follow up on unpaid claims and coordinate with insurance companies for claim resolution
- Manage patient billing inquiries and assist with payment collections
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical billing regulations and coding standards
- Compute patient liabilities
- Review Coverage and Copays with patients
- Answer incoming phone calls and schedule patient appointments
Qualifications
- Prior experience in dental or medical billing, coding, or healthcare administrative roles preferred
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems and familiarity with medical records management
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, ICD coding
- Knowledge of medical collection processes and insurance claim procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, insurance providers, and healthcare staff
- Experience with medical office operations is a plus
