POSITION: Quality System Engineer - CAR
LOCATION: Jupiter, FL
STATUS: Salary-exempt
JOB SUMMARY
The position is responsible for ensuring that business processes within PSM are properly implemented, maintained and improved under a Quality Management System (QMS) which complies with both internal and external requirements. In addition, the position is responsible for leading the corrective action process (CAR).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:

Ensure compliance of the QMS with the current ISO 9001 standard, AS9100 standard where required, as well as customer, legal and regulatory requirements.

Guide and support all business functions in designing, mapping and improving business processes, work instructions, forms and other management system documents.

Serve as a point of contact for questions pertaining to document control and promote document control best practices across the business.

Assist users with proper utilization of electronic document management systems (eDMS).

Lead or actively support training activities related to the QMS, business processes, document management or other quality related matters.

Further develop and ensure implementation of document management policy, corrective action process documentation, and other quality management system documentation.

Participate in the internal audit program through conducting and supporting audits.

Support preparation and facilitation of external audits as required, including timely responses to external audit findings.

Lead CAR process to support timely closure of action items and effective reviews.
-
Seek opportunities for improvement in CAR status visibility and reporting.

Promote effective root cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent issues from recurring.

Ensure high-risk nonconformances and the respective CARs are appropriately escalated.

Issue corrective action requests (CARs) for nonconformities as deemed necessary.

Promote timely closure of CARs through leading and attending regular CAR meetings, as well as proactive follow up.
- Support collection, analysis and reporting of business metrics as assigned, including but not limited to the CAR process.

Support continual improvement activities pertaining to the quality management system.

Assist with implementing new or updated standards, including performance of GAP analysis.

Promote the process approach and risk-based thinking.

Perform other tasks as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education & Training
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field, or 3 years relevant experience.

Basic level of ISO 9001 auditor training required, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor preferred.

Quality Management certification (e.g. CQE, CMQ/OE, SSBB)
Skills/Experience
-
2+ years of experience leading root cause analysis and corrective action management
-
3+ years of experience working with Quality Management Systems and ensuring compliance to the current ISO 9001 standard
-
3+ years proven track record as a presenter and trainer
-
1+ years of experience leading internal audits
-
Experience in the industrial gas turbine industry, aerospace industry or other relevant industry preferred.

Experience working in Teamcenter

Good planning and organization skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks in parallel

Systematic way of working, ability to define and maintain structure and systems
-
Very good cross-functional understanding of industrial business processes

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Fluency in English

Very good technical writing capabilities
-
Knowledge of RCA tools such as 5-Why, Fishbone Diagrams, etc.

Very good communication skills
-
Ability to cope with pressure and resistance while maintaining professionalism

Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and ownership
