BTR Manufacturing is seeking a skilled welder with experience operating CNC, plasma, laser, or similar automated fabrication equipment.
This position combines MIG welding with operation of our tube plasma cutting system. The ideal candidate has fabrication experience, can read prints, and is comfortable working with both welding and computer-controlled machinery.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding on fabricated components and assemblies
- Operate and monitor tube plasma cutting equipment
- Set up materials and load production jobs
- Read and interpret blueprints and work orders
- Inspect parts to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy
- Grind, fit, and prepare parts for welding and assembly
- Assist with fabrication and production projects as needed
- Maintain a safe and organized work area
Required Qualifications
- Previous MIG welding experience
- Previous machining experience (CNC, plasma, laser, router, press brake, or similar manufacturing equipment)
- Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings
- Basic computer skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs
- Reliable attendance and work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with tube plasma or tube laser equipment
- Fabrication and fitting experience
- Forklift experience
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and production issues
Hiring Process
Qualified candidates may be asked to complete a basic hands-on skills evaluation. This may include a simple MIG welding test and a basic machine operation or setup exercise to help assess fabrication experience and mechanical aptitude.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who already has experience working around CNC or automated fabrication equipment and is interested in further developing those skills. Tube plasma experience is not required, but applicants should have enough manufacturing experience to learn the equipment quickly.
