Summer Camp Director oversees the daily operations, staff management, and program development of a camp. They ensure a safe, engaging environment for campers while handling parent communications, and staff training. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a passion for youth development.
Key ResponsibilitiesStaff Management
- Assist, train, and supervise camp counselors, activity specialists, and support staff.
- Assist in pre-camp training sessions and assist in ongoing performance evaluations and feedback.
Program Development & Operations
- Assist in the planning, organize, and execute age-appropriate curricula, daily schedules, and special events.
Health, Safety & Welfare
- Assist and help implement, and enforce camp safety policies, emergency protocols, and health procedures.
- Ensure all camp facilities are clean, secure, and well-maintained.
Camper & Parent Relations
- Address behavioral and emotional needs of campers, serving as a positive role model.
- Manage parent expectations, communicate updates, and resolve complaints professionally.
