Position Summary: The Financial Coach is responsible for providing financial coaching and financial literacy instruction to Genesis Center students via the Financial Opportunity Center ® (FOC). The Financial Coach helps students understand their financial situations, set and achieve financial goals, and maintains accurate records of student progress. The Coach also assists with the delivery of special programs related to student financial support
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (include but are not limited to)
- Provides financial coaching to Genesis Center students
- Conducts financial literacy workshops on a variety of relevant topics. Updates curriculum to reflect trends and developments in personal finance, especially in relation to low-moderate income individuals
- Incorporates technology, including AI tools, into both workshops and coaching as appropriate
- Promotes FOC services to Genesis Center students via in-class presentations
- Accurately tracks student enrollment and financial activity in the Salesforce database
- Confidentially handles sensitive information, including Personal Identifying Information, in line with agency protocols
- Develops strategies designed to motivate students in pursuing financial goals during class and post-graduation from Genesis Center. .
- Collaborates with colleagues on the distribution of Student Emergency Support Funds.
- Develops relationships with local financial institutions by scheduling workshops and presentations for Genesis clients.
- Effectively collaborates with other Genesis staff to successfully operate programming.
- Actively promotes the Company’s mission, vision and values

Qualifications: (includes professional & legal standards, knowledge, skills and demonstrated abilities required)
- BA or BS Degree or equivalent experience, preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of content related to personal finance and/or banking.
- Experience with 1:1 coaching, preferably around financial empowerment
- Experience with presenting and workshop facilitation
- Proficiency in Microsoft office products and Google suite, ability to use database programs.
- Sensitive to the challenges faced by low-income communities, ability to focus on strengths and creating forward progress
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Work Environment / Physical Demands:
- Visual ability to read handwritten or typed documents, and the display screen of various office equipment and machines.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation to attend outside meetings
- Reading, calculating, working under pressure, etc.
- Occasional evening work required
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
