Responsibilities
- Assist vendors with food preparation, food handling, and maintaining sanitation standards to ensure a safe and clean marketplace environment
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for retail sales transactions, cash handling, and processing payments accurately
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, upselling products, and creating a positive shopping experience
- Support quick service operations by bussing tables, managing food service areas, and ensuring efficient flow during busy market hours
- Maintain proper food safety practices in line with health regulations and sanitation protocols
- Manage time effectively to handle multiple responsibilities seamlessly throughout the market day
- Support overall marketplace operations including basic math calculations for sales and inventory management
Experience
- Previous experience in food preparation, food service, or retail sales transactions preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly desirable
- Experience working in quick service or fast food restaurants, cafes, grocery stores, or other food industry settings is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to upsell and engage positively with diverse customers
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitation standards within the food industry
- Ability to handle cash accurately and perform basic math calculations confidently
- Prior experience in bussing, serving, or cashiering roles enhances your fit for this position
