Summary of the Role:
BEPC is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate III - PHCS to join our client’s site in Tucson, AZ. This role will support research, development, and manufacturing laboratory experimentation and other scientific activities. The position exercises technical expertise and discretion in the design, execution, and interpretation of experiments that contribute to project strategies. Responsibilities include preparing technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses; presenting and discussing experimental results with project teams; maintaining professional expertise through scientific literature and participation in professional societies; following GMP, GLP, Design Control, and other applicable procedures; maintaining complete laboratory documentation and electronic files; and may serve as principal investigator for independently conducted experiments.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design a wide range of experimental protocols.
- Execute bench experiments, make detailed and general observations, and analyze data.
- Prepare technical reports, summaries, and quantitative analyses.
- Maintain complete and accurate laboratory records.
- Receive general direction on routine and new assignments.
- Identify and implement improvements to work processes and the laboratory environment.
- Serve as a recognized expert in area of expertise.
- Recognize and document activities with publication and/or patent potential.
- Work on complex problems requiring in-depth evaluation of multiple factors.
- Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Participate in cross-functional technical teams, such as failure investigations or core teams.
- Contribute as a productive project team member by suggesting creative solutions and providing input to project planning.
- Establish interfaces across organizational groups.
- Train others in areas of expertise.
- Troubleshoot problems and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare and present experimental procedures and results to group and project teams.
- Monitor work to ensure quality and continuously promote Quality First Time.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Science, in Life Sciences (preferred).
- 4–6 years of post-college experience. Minimum of 4 years of relevant job experience.
- Knowledge of a wide range of experimental techniques and skill in their application.
- Ability to search scientific literature to obtain general and specific information.
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, graphical, and presentation software applications.
