We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Pet Crematory Operator to join our growing team. This role is essential to maintaining the highest standards of care, accuracy, and professionalism in the cremation process.
Position Overview
The Pet Crematory Operator is responsible for the respectful handling and cremation of pets in accordance with company protocols. This role requires attention to detail, operational discipline, and a compassionate mindset toward the families and veterinary partners we serve.
Key Responsibilities
Crematory Operations
- Operate and monitor cremation equipment in accordance with safety and operational procedures
- Prepare pets for cremation while maintaining the highest level of respect and dignity
- Maintain accurate tracking and identification throughout the entire cremation process
- Process remains following cremation and prepare for return to veterinary partners or families
Quality Control & Documentation
- Maintain detailed records and chain-of-custody documentation
- Ensure strict adherence to identification protocols to guarantee accuracy
- Package cremated remains and memorial items according to company standards
Facility Operations
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of cremation equipment and facility
- Assist with loading, unloading, and preparation of daily cremation schedules
- Monitor fuel usage, equipment performance, and operational efficiency
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with drivers, customer service representatives, and management to ensure smooth daily operations
- Support veterinary partner service expectations and timelines
Qualifications
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment
- Comfortable working in a role that involves pet aftercare and cremation
- Strong sense of professionalism and emotional sensitivity
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and perform physical work throughout the day
- Mechanical aptitude or equipment operation experience is a plus
- Experience in crematory, veterinary, animal care, or industrial operations is preferred but not required
- Must be able to drive a pickup with a 14' trailer attached. Or be willing to learn how to drive a pickup and trailer.
- Good driving record and valid current driver's license required.

- Minimum requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Work Environment:
- Moderate odors, dust or fumes may cause discomfort and / or irritation to eyes or respiratory passages. Exposure to dangerous chemicals, disease, carcinogens or radioactivity (even though protective clothing is worn) is possible.
- Working beyond "standard" hours as the need arises
- Some of these duties may involve long hours and need to be done on weekends, evening, nighttime and holidays. Some duties may also require you be exposed to unpleasantries associated with deceased pet remains. Interested candidates should apply with a cover letter and resume.
