Duties
- Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting seasonal or innovative meal ideas that align with dietary guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation protocols.
- Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, portioning, and assembling ingredients efficiently for service.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including knives, grills, ovens, and fryers.
- Support dietary department needs by understanding special dietary requirements and accommodating them appropriately.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy hours while maintaining high standards of food quality.
- Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed at all times to promote safety and prevent contamination.
- Assist with catering orders or special event preparations as needed, demonstrating flexibility and initiative.
Skills
- Proven experience as a line cook with a focus on breakfast and lunch service in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong culinary skills including knife techniques, food preparation, and cooking methods.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling practices.
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and food industry standards.
- Background in dietary aide roles or dietary department experience is highly desirable.
- Fine dining experience or restaurant experience that emphasizes quality presentation and attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork, communication skills, and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
