Job Title: Direct Support Professional (DSP) – 1:1 Support
Job Summary
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in providing compassionate, person-centered support to individuals with developmental disabilities. This position involves working 1:1 with an individual who has behavioral challenges in both home and community settings. The DSP supports the individual in achieving personal goals, fostering independence, and enhancing overall quality of life while ensuring safety, dignity, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including grooming, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Implement individualized care and behavior support plans in accordance with established guidelines.
- Assist with medication administration and adherence to prescribed routines (as trained and authorized).
- Encourage participation in meaningful activities that promote social engagement, independence, and skill development.
- Observe, document, and report behavioral patterns, progress, and any changes in condition while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and support team staff to ensure coordinated care.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to promote overall well-being and stability.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working within the human services delivery system preferred.
- Knowledge of caregiving techniques for individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Strong observation skills to identify changes in behavior or health status.
- Ability to safely assist with mobility and perform physical tasks, including lifting as required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of person-centered and dignity-based support practices.
- Commitment to providing respectful, compassionate, and individualized care.
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).

- Pay Rate: $19.00–$21.00 per hour

Schedule
We are currently hiring for the following part-time shifts:
- Evening Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Overnight Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Weekend and holiday availability may be required.
Location Requirements
- Ability to commute to Ventura, CA (required)
- Reliable transportation to and from the assigned work location.
- Work Location: In person (Ventura, CA)
