Responsibilities:

Adheres to hospital policies including confidentiality.

Requires minimal supervision to safely perform essential functions.

Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly environment.

Requisitions special order supplies for all departments or Surgical Services

Requisitions routine supplies from SPD via Purchasing system

Maintains tissue tracking database

Will be able to function efficiently' as scheduling/Posting clerk for the Surgical Schedule.

Assists with answering phones at front desk
-
Check outdates on sterile disposable supplies in Peds.

Checks in special orders in receiving dept and delivers to Peds Departments.

Performs routine checks on backordered supplies and communicates with purchasing and Nurse Manaier/Charge Nurse.

Arranges for overnight shipmen! of emergency supplies.
-
Arranges for shipping in/out or loaner equipment.
-
Unboxes, and shelves supplies and inspects for damage prior to shelving.

Communications and uses appropriate customer relation skills with physicians. healthcare team. visitors and other hospital staff in person and via telephone

Responds to overhead pages

Maintains accurate and complete records by: Labeling broken equipment and compiling order list for special purchases

Cooperates, helps others and improves the performance of the unit.

Completes all mandatory unit. education and hospital requirements

Utilizes cost effective practices in performing all aspect of the job.

Adheres to current infection Control and Safety Standards.

Accepts reassignment to other areas of Surgical Services with a positive attitude

Participates on committees as assigned

Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements

Regular and prompt attendance

Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required

Additional Information:
Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 1 year of related experience in a healthcare setting Required

Hospital experience and Operating Room experience Preferred

Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
