Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Moldmaker to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mold design and fabrication, with a focus on precision and quality. As a Moldmaker, you will be responsible for creating and repairing molds used in the manufacturing process, ensuring that they meet strict specifications and standards. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, creativity, and problem-solving skills to deliver high-quality molds for various applications.
Duties
- Design, fabricate, and repair molds for plastics injection molding processes.
- Operate CNC machines and other machining equipment to create mold components.
- Utilize welding techniques to assemble mold parts as needed.
- Program and set up stamping presses for mold production.
- Conduct measurements using calipers and micrometers to ensure accuracy of mold specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering teams using SolidWorks for mold design modifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to mold performance or quality.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Moldmaker or in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in machining processes, including CNC operation.
- Familiarity with welding techniques is a plus.
- Strong understanding of plastics injection molding processes.
- Experience with programming stamping presses is advantageous.
- Proficient in using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Solid knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD software for mold design.
- Strong mathematical skills for precise calculations and measurements.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
