Banister Medical, a machine shop focused on medical devices, is seeking experienced lathe operators to join our skilled, knowledgeable and fun team. We are a full capability, growing machine shop looking for qualified candidates with a minimum of 2 years experience setting up and running chucker lathes. Swiss experience a plus. We operate a variety of modern equipment, with primarily Haas and Fanuc controllers.
Because we work on new and complex products, there are ample learning opportunities for curious, motivated machinists.
Experience must include machine set-up, checking equipment for proper operation, safety and/or needed maintenance, and performing visual and dimensional inspections using precision measuring instruments.
A positive attitude, willingness to learn, a humble mindset, and the ability to work well with others are essential.

Responsibilities
- Set up and operate lathe machines, ensuring accurate alignment, tool selection, and workpiece fixturing for complex parts.
- Read drawings, GD&T, and inspection plans; perform dimensional measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other metrology tools as required.
- Maintain machine health through routine checks, preventive maintenance, and prompt adjustment of offsets and zero references.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues and implement process improvements.
