Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Estimator to join our dynamic construction team. Duties
- Review and interpret detailed construction drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents to develop precise estimates.
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Xactimate to prepare comprehensive project budgets and bids.
- Analyze project scope, identify potential risks, and develop strategies for effective cost management and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing on materials and services.
- Estimate material requirements from blueprints using Bluebeam and other digital tools, ensuring accuracy in quantity takeoffs.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously by coordinating with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure estimates align with project goals.
- Review construction contracts, manage project budgets, and assist in contract negotiations to safeguard company interests.
- Conduct construction site visits to gather real-time data, validate estimates, and monitor ongoing project costs.
- Lead efforts in managing project estimations from initial concept through final bid submission, ensuring timely delivery of accurate proposals.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in managing projects as a construction estimator within commercial or industrial sectors.
- Strong proficiency with Bluebeam, HeavyBid, Xactimate, and interpreting technical drawings for accurate estimation.
- Demonstrated expertise in construction drawing review, pricing strategies, and estimating material requirements from blueprints.
- Extensive knowledge of construction site operations, contracts, project management principles, and cost control methodologies.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets related to construction estimating and budgeting effectively.
- Construction experience across various disciplines including general contracting, subcontracting, or specialty trades is highly desirable.
