Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Dental Treatment Plan Coordinator to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for patients regarding their treatment plans, insurance benefits, and financial arrangements. Your energetic approach will ensure seamless communication between patients, dental providers, and insurance companies, promoting a positive patient experience and efficient clinic operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong medical administrative skills, familiarity with dental terminology, and experience working with electronic health record (EHR) systems to support accurate documentation and billing processes.
Responsibilities
- Review and explain treatment plans to patients clearly, ensuring understanding of procedures, costs, and insurance coverage.
- Verify patient insurance benefits
- Coordinate with insurance companies for pre-authorizations, claim submissions, and follow-up on outstanding payments.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation review to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinic policies.
- Assist in scheduling appointments and managing patient flow using dental office management software like Open Dental
- Assisting in managing social media / marketing strategies.
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering inquiries via multi-line phone systems, practicing professional phone etiquette, and delivering a welcoming front desk experience.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dental office administration or medical administrative support within a clinical setting.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Open Dental.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical coding (CPT, ICD), insurance verification processes, and health information management standards.
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to navigate multi-line phone systems efficiently while maintaining professionalism and courtesy.
- BILINGUIAL (ENGLISH / SPANISH) abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations.
- Prior clinic or dental office experience that demonstrates organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to safeguard patient confidentiality and privacy.
