Performs all types of vehicle maintenance, inspections, and electrical repairs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Troubleshooting, Service and Repair including but not limited to the following:
Engines and Transmissions
Electronically Controlled Systems
Vehicle Electrical Systems
Steering and Suspension systems
Cooling Systems
Coach Chassis
Wheel Chair Systems
Driver Controls
Driver and Passenger Seating
Window and Glass
Fuel Systems
Hydraulic Systems
Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning Systems
Air Brake Systems
Front and Rear Axles
Pneumatic and Electronic Door Systems
Auxiliary Equipment
Preventative Maintenance
Removing/ Replacement of Components
Performs Maintenance Road-Call Repairs
Performs Additional Departmental Work as Required
Mechanic “C” may assist Mechanic “B” or Mechanic “A” with mechanical repairs, or specialized work
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a minimum of two years vehicle mechanics experience or equivalent training in this field (heavy equipment repair experience is desirable).Must have own tools. Basic computer experience, and able to navigate using Windows based software. Must maintain a safe working environment and follow all safety and environmental regulations.Must possess a valid California Class B license and excellent safe driving record. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English sufficiently to perform the job.
