Blue Springs Baptist Church is seeking a Minister of Music/Worship to fill a Part-time position with flexible scheduling and paid vacation.
The successful candidate must:
# Be a growing Christian who displays a deep love for Jesus and a strong desire to serve and magnify Him.
# Professionally display musical knowledge, talent, organizational skills, and leadership gained from prior training and/or experience.
# Communicate well with the Pastor, choir members, & other worship team members to plan, practice, present, & direct each week’s worship services, committing to weekly rehearsals (currently Wednesday evenings), Sunday morning, Wednesday night prayer meetings, and occasional special events (e.g. Plays/Dramas & Vacation Bible School).
# Coordinate with the Pastor to develop, lead, and direct weekly, blended worship services that include both traditional/gospel & modern/contemporary music through inclusion of praise songs, hymns, choir, vocalists, musicians, and other special music.
# Integrate and utilize various musical instruments, audio-visual equipment, & computers in worship services. An ability to lead with a guitar and/or keyboard along with piano accompaniment is a plus.
# As church growth occurs, help expand the music program to include students (Grades: Kindergarten-12) with occasional Sunday morning presentations & other special events.
# Be able to pass a background check and drug test.
As Minister of Music/Worship you will have the opportunity to use your calling, passion, and musical talents to lead worship, glorify God, and edify others. You will play a vital role in creating and leading a meaningful worship experience for the congregation. You will encourage and recruit members of the congregation of all ages to offer their musical talents to the church. You will select and purchase all needed music, equipment, and supplies as budgeted and approved by the church.
