eCommerce Merchandising Specialist

VOLT Lighting is a leading manufacturer of premium outdoor landscape lighting sold directly to consumers, contractors, and retailers. We are looking for an experienced eCommerce Merchandising Specialist to help optimize our direct-to-consumer shopping experience and drive online sales growth.
This is a highly collaborative role that combines merchandising strategy, analytics, conversion optimization, digital experience, and cross-functional project management.
What You'll Do
- Execute and optimize the D2C merchandising strategy to improve conversion and customer experience.
- Manage onsite merchandising including product categories, collections, navigation, search, and product discovery.
- Maintain accurate product information including pricing, attributes, images, availability, and merchandising content.
- Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities to increase average order value.
- Conduct A/B testing and recommend improvements based on performance data.
- Monitor website performance using Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Power BI, Quantum Metric, and other analytics tools.
- Analyze customer behavior, sales trends, and merchandising performance to identify opportunities for growth.
- Optimize product pages and content using SEO and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) best practices.
- Partner with Marketing on product launches, promotions, campaigns, and seasonal merchandising.
- Collaborate with Creative to improve page layouts, product presentation, and overall user experience.
- Support product photography and video shoots to ensure customer-focused assets are captured.
- Work closely with IT and Operations on order management, fulfillment, inventory visibility, and backend integrations.
- Support promotional planning, margin analysis, inventory forecasting, and merchandising initiatives.
- Monitor competitors and industry trends while recommending improvements to leadership.
- Support global eCommerce initiatives and additional projects as assigned.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Merchandising, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in eCommerce merchandising, digital merchandising, or direct-to-consumer eCommerce.
- Strong understanding of conversion rate optimization (CRO), customer journeys, and UX best practices.
- Experience working within an eCommerce platform such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Magento, Shopify, BigCommerce, or similar.
- Experience using Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to analyze website performance.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and project management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred
- Experience with Quantum Metric or similar digital experience analytics platforms.
- Experience using Power BI or similar reporting tools.
- Experience with SEO, AEO, and onsite search optimization.
- Experience conducting A/B testing.
- Experience with inventory forecasting and merchandising planning.
- Experience in consumer products, home improvement, outdoor living, or related industries.
