Job Title: Housekeeper – Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Treatment Facility
10:00am-6:00pm (every other weekend)
Job Summary
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment facility. This position helps ensure a welcoming atmosphere for patients, staff, and visitors while supporting infection prevention, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize patient rooms, bathrooms, offices, hallways, common areas, and treatment spaces.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish floors, furniture, and fixtures.
- Change bed linens and replenish towels and patient room supplies.
- Empty trash and dispose of waste according to facility and safety guidelines.
- Restock cleaning products, paper goods, and hygiene supplies throughout the facility.
- Follow infection control procedures and use cleaning chemicals safely.
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damaged equipment to the appropriate department.
- Maintain housekeeping equipment and ensure cleaning supplies are properly stored.
- Follow all facility policies regarding confidentiality, safety, and patient privacy (HIPAA).
- Work collaboratively with staff to maintain a clean, comfortable, and therapeutic environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous housekeeping or environmental services experience in a healthcare, behavioral health, or residential setting preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform physical tasks, including standing, bending, and walking for extended periods.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and infection control practices.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, professional, and committed to maintaining confidentiality.
Working Conditions
- 10:00am - 6:00pm - Monday - Friday & every other weekend
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and reaching.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals and routine housekeeping equipment.
- May work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
