Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications safely and accurately following all protocols and HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor residents’ vital signs and observe for any adverse reactions or changes in condition.
- Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems
- Support residents with specialized needs including tube feeding, catheter care, and other medical procedures under supervision
- Record and report any significant changes in health status or behavior to nursing staff or supervisors
- Uphold safety standards by following infection control procedures and ensuring a clean, hazard-free environment
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospital, or home care environments preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medication administration techniques
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner is highly desirable
- Ability to work with individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments like Alzheimer’s disease or dementia
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams and residents’ families
- Certification as a Medication Technician or similar credential is preferred; willingness to obtain necessary licensure required by state law
