Optometry Technician
We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Optometry Technician to join our team at West Broward Eyecare. Our ideal candidate is professional, compassionate, and enjoys working directly with patients in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome and prepare patients for examinations
- Obtain patient medical histories and update records
- Perform preliminary testing, including visual acuity, auto-refraction, and retinal imaging (Optos)
- Assist the doctor during patient exams as needed
- Train patients on contact lenses insertion and removal
- Perform additional testing as needed including visual field, OCT scans, topography mapping, etc.
- Support front desk operations and scheduling when necessary
Qualifications:
- Positive and professional attitude
- Previous experience in optometry, ophthalmology, or healthcare preferred
- Excellent communication, phone, and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a team environment
- Experience with EHR systems and diagnostic equipment is a plus
- Strong typing/computer skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bonus: Insurance, optical, or sales experience
