JOB
Supervise, coordinate and oversee the operations of assigned intelligence unit, providing leadership, direction, and coordination of staff engaged in intelligence gathering, analysis, and dissemination. Ensure actionable intelligence supports investigations, enforcement strategies, and crime reduction initiatives. Develop analytical priorities, supervise staff, and collaborate with internal divisions and external partners to enhance situational awareness, identify emerging threats, and support efforts to prevent and reduce violent crime.

Supervise, assign, and participate in the daily operations of the assigned intelligence unit; assign, direct, and review the work of staff engaged in data collection, analysis, and intelligence product development.

Establish schedules and methods for delivering intelligence and analytical services; identify data, staffing, and technology needs; review operation requirements with appropriate supervisory staff; and allocate analytic resources accordingly.

Recommend and assist in the implementation of intelligence and analytical program goals, and objectives, implement approved policies, protocols, and operational procedures.

Provide leadership and technical guidance to staff on analytical methods, data interpretation, and intelligence dissemination to ensure consistency, accuracy, and effectiveness.

Analyze and interpret complex data from multiple sources—including police reports, criminal databases, surveillance footage, and social media—to identify suspects, crime patterns, trends, and linkages in violent crime cases.

Coordinate and produce comprehensive intelligence products such as bulletins, link analysis charts, timelines, suspect profiles, and case briefs to support investigative and operational needs.

Develop and implement targeted enforcement strategies in collaboration with investigative and patrol units to disrupt criminal activity and reduce violent crime.

Monitor, and assess emerging threats and trends; ensure staff produce and disseminate timely, relevant intelligence to command staff personnel and field units.

Support investigations by guiding analytical efforts to identify potential witnesses, associations between suspects and victims, and geographic hotspots.

Facilitate information sharing with regional, state, and federal partners, including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and multi-agency task forces, ensuring compliance with data-sharing protocols and security standards.

Maintain and oversee intelligence databases and systems to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality.

Prepare and deliver intelligence briefings and presentations to command staff, investigative teams, and external stakeholders.

Select, train, motivate, and evaluate assigned personnel; provide or coordinate staff training, working with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline and termination procedures.

Review and evaluate acquired analytical tools, software, and data systems; ensure all platforms and resources meet operational and contractual specifications.

Oversee research and resolution of issues related to analytical service invoices and contract compliance; audit all financial and procurement processes associated with intelligence and data-operations expenditures.
