About the Role
American Stone is hiring a full-time Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair quarry equipment and fleet vehicles.
This position is based in the Burley/Oakley, Idaho area and supports our Mountain Yard quarry operations.
Strong English is not required. Spanish-speaking applicants are welcome.
Pay: $25 to $35 per hour, depending on experience.
You will be responsible for inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy equipment and diesel systems while maintaining a safe and clean work environment. This role is ideal for someone dependable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently in a hands-on quarry environment.
Responsibilities

Perform inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment

Diagnose and repair diesel engines and heavy equipment

Work on hydraulic systems, brakes, suspension, and transmissions

Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently

Assist with troubleshooting mechanical issues in the field when needed
Qualifications
Required:
-
Experience working with diesel engines or heavy equipment
-
Ability to perform physical work and lift heavy objects

Ability to pass dr*g screening
Preferred:
-
Experience with heavy equipment (loaders, excavators, trucks)

Welding or fabrication experience
-
Technical certification in diesel mechanics

English proficiency is not required
Schedule
You will work daylight hours as you are capable, minimum 40 hours per week. You might work Saturdays. You have Sundays off.
