Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assess, plan, and implement personalized occupational therapy programs that promote patient independence and enhance quality of life. Your expertise will support individuals across diverse settings, including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, schools, and home health environments. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to evaluate patients’ functional abilities and needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each client’s goals, medical conditions, and developmental stage.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to foster independence.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including speech therapists, physical therapists, physicians, educators, and case managers—to coordinate care plans and optimize patient outcomes.
- Support discharge planning by preparing clients for transition back to home or community settings with appropriate adaptive strategies and resources.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and clinical notes within electronic health records (EHR) systems in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Provide education and training to clients, families, caregivers, and educators on therapeutic techniques and adaptive equipment use.
Skills
- Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities across various age groups including pediatrics, geriatrics, neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorders, and post-acute care populations.
- Strong knowledge of occupational therapy assessments, treatment plan development, and evidence-based practice methodologies.
- Skilled in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), discharge planning, and implementing occupational therapy programs tailored to diverse client needs.
- Experience working in multiple settings such as inpatient hospitals (including ICU), skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, school environments, home health services, or outpatient rehabilitation centers.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, physiology, anatomy knowledge, and clinical documentation standards necessary for accurate case management.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients of all ages and backgrounds while fostering interprofessional collaboration for comprehensive care delivery.
- Competence in managing electronic health records (EHR), documenting treatment progress accurately, and adhering to confidentiality protocols.
