American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVICU RN for a 13-week travel contract requiring strong cardiovascular ICU experience and an active OR RN license.
-
Work in a blended cardiovascular care unit (CVCU) with 18 CVICU beds and 12 CVIMCU beds
-
Care for patients 16 years and older with primary cardiac diagnoses including heart failure, post-cardiac arrest, CABG, valve repair/replacement, VATS/thoracotomy, IABP therapy, Impella insertion, post-PCI, pacemaker insertion, ablation, arrhythmia, STEMI/NSTEMI, and EKOS

Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM

Constant floating required between CVICU/CVCU/PCU units
-
May also float to an affiliate hospital located approximately 15 minutes away
-
Epic charting system used
-
Active RN license (Oregon license pending acceptable at submission, but must be active by start)

Active Oregon CNA license required in hand at time of consideration

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

CCRN certification preferred
-
Minimum 2 years of CVICU or cardiovascular RN experience required

Telemetry experience required
-
Prior travel nursing experience required
-
Strong cardiovascular experience required, including CVP monitoring, CABG, IABP, TAVR, valve repair/replacement, pre/post cardiac cath intervention, and LVAD/RVAD management
-
Skilled in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and chest tube assistance
-
Experience with continuous IV sedation, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, and CRRT/CVVHD preferred

Experience with arterial line, central line, and PICC line management
-
Provide advanced cardiovascular critical care within a nationally recognized Top 50 Cardiovascular Hospital program
-
Join a multidisciplinary team with a strong focus on mentoring and specialty training, including IABP, CRRT, targeted temperature management, and VAD care

Unit has received the AACN Silver Beacon Award for Nursing Care Excellence

Former permanent employees of the health system must wait six months after termination before applying for travel positions

Facility does not accommodate block scheduling and prefers finalized RTO at time of consideration

Facility typically books candidates 3-4 weeks in advance of the start date

Refusing floating assignments may result in contract cancellation
