Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Surgery Scheduler/Front Desk professional to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a smooth and efficient scheduling process for surgical procedures. Duties
- Schedule surgical procedures accurately by coordinating with physicians, patients, and surgical teams using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system.
- Verify patient insurance coverage, including Medicare and other health plans, ensuring proper authorization and documentation review before procedures.
- Manage patient intake processes, including collecting medical history, updating records, and explaining pre- and post-operative instructions clearly.
- Answer multi-line phone systems with professionalism, providing excellent patient service while directing calls efficiently.
- Maintain and organize medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Assist with insurance verification, billing inquiries, and follow-up on outstanding collections related to surgical procedures.
- Support clinic operations by managing appointment schedules, confirming upcoming surgeries, and coordinating with clinical staff to optimize workflow.
- Utilize computer skills in Microsoft Office and other EHR platforms for documentation review and data entry.
- Handle clerical tasks such as data entry (including 10-key typing), faxing, and managing electronic health records (EHR).
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting patients warmly at the front desk and addressing their questions or concerns professionally.
Experience
- Previous clinic or medical office experience with a focus on surgical scheduling or front desk responsibilities preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 coding standards for accurate documentation and billing.
- Knowledge of health insurance processes including verification procedures for Medicare and private insurers.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a busy healthcare setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent phone etiquette combined with strong organizational skills in office management tasks.
- Proven ability to uphold clinical confidentiality policies.

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
