Overview
We are looking for an experienced Courage Mentor who can offer guidance, wisdom, and personal insight to individuals seeking support in a specific area , such as career advancement, academic growth, or professional development. Unlike formal coaching, mentoring emphasizes sharing lived experience and industry knowledge to help mentees make informed decisions and navigate real-life challenges.
Responsibilities
- Build positive, supportive mentoring relationships with youth participants
- Facilitate structured group sessions and one-on-one mentoring meetings
- Support youth in goal setting, academic planning, and personal development
- Teach life skills such as communication, emotional regulation, accountability, and conflict resolution
- Serve as a positive role model and advocate
- Monitor participant progress and maintain documentation as required
- Collaborate with families, schools, and community partners when appropriate
- Ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment
- Assist with program events, workshops, and activities
Program Details
- Part-time (2 hours per week per mentee, 5 mentees max)
- Flexible schedule (after school/weekends)
- Pilot program (no immediate start date)
- Ideal for supplemental income
What We’re Looking For
- Must have reliable transportation
- Experience working with youth (mentoring, coaching, teaching, etc.)
- Strong communication and professionalism
- Ability to maintain boundaries (not a peer/friend/big brother or sister role)
- Self-starter who can work independently
- A personal alignment to a faith-centered mission
