Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Facilities Maintenance Specialist to help maintain the functionality and appearance of our facilities throughout Holland, MI.
This role is responsible for performing routine maintenance, completing minor repairs, responding to maintenance requests, and supporting the overall upkeep of multiple properties. The Facilities Associate will work primarily independently while collaborating closely with the Logistics & Facilities team and other departments to ensure smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs across multiple facilities.
- Repair wall damage, complete painting projects, replace ceiling tiles, and perform general building upkeep.
- Conduct regular facility inspections and proactively identify maintenance needs.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and effective manner.
Cleaning & Grounds Maintenance
- Perform general cleaning of offices, kitchens, break rooms, restrooms, and shared spaces as needed.
- Complete lawn care, snow removal, and salting to maintain safe outdoor areas.
- Operate maintenance equipment including vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, snow blowers, leaf blowers, and lawn mowers.
Facilities Support & Coordination
- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment (fuel, salt, paint, tools, etc.) and request reorders as needed.
- Coordinate with external contractors for repairs and specialized maintenance work.
- Assist with setup and teardown of furniture and equipment for meetings, events, and organizational needs.
- Support volunteers assisting with facilities-related projects when needed.
General Responsibilities
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support facility operations.
QualificationsRequired
- Minimum 2 years of relevant maintenance, facilities, custodial, or related experience.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing.
- Strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to follow a consistent and dependable work schedule.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred
- Some college coursework (Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience accepted).
- Experience with commercial facilities maintenance or cleaning.

Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Regularly bend, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, and use ladders.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Operate cleaning and groundskeeping equipment.
- Occasionally drive for work-related tasks.
- Frequently move throughout work areas for extended periods.
Schedule Requirements
- Part-time schedule: Up to 28 hours per week.
- Occasional evening and weekend hours (scheduled in advance).
