Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines, ensuring precise execution according to technical specifications and blueprints
- Interpret engineering drawings, CAD files, and production documents to accurately program and adjust machine operations
- Utilize CAM programming software for efficient toolpath creation and optimization for laser cutting processes
- Conduct routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of CNC laser equipment to maintain optimal performance
- Measure finished parts using precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensional accuracy in accordance with GD&T standards
- Follow safety protocols and industry standards to ensure a safe working environment during machine operation and material handling
- Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects, material selection, and tooling requirements to meet production deadlines
Skills
- Proficiency in CNC programming, CAM programming, and understanding of CNC milling machines, CNC lathe, and other industrial equipment
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, mechanical blueprint interpretation, and technical drawing analysis
- Experience with Fanuc controls or similar CNC control systems is highly desirable
- Ability to operate shop math calculations accurately for measurements and material estimations
- Familiarity with fabrication processes such as stamping presses, press brake machines, and materials handling techniques including forklift operation
- Mechanical knowledge combined with troubleshooting skills for industrial equipment maintenance
- Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and understanding GD&T principles
- Knowledge of safety standards specific to manufacturing environments including PPE usage and hazard prevention
- Experience working in a manufacturing or factory setting with assembly line tasks and packaging processes
- Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately and apply shop math effectively in daily tasks
