Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Heavy Haul Truck Driver to join our transportation team. Class A-CDL and Health Card are required. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating various types of heavy equipment, including front end loader, excavators, dozers, motor graders, belly pans, compactors, tractors and tractor implements. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and adherence to all traffic laws while delivering goods efficiently and on time. Driver must have an understanding of how to obtain overweight and over sized permits. Paid Vacation of one week after one year. Pay will vary, based upon years and experience.
Responsibilities
- Operate and drive different types of heavy equipment such as Front End Loaders, Excavators, Dozers, Dump Trucks, Compactors, Tractors, Off Road Trucks.
- Load and unload heavy equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling and securing of heavy equipment.
- Plan and follow efficient routes for timely deliveries while adhering to traffic regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents during transport.
- Maintain accurate records of heavy equipment deliveries with pre and post photos to include times, dates, and locations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, road conditions, and any issues encountered during routes.
- Assist in training new drivers on safe driving practices and company policies as needed.
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving with a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL).
- Proficient in operating manual transmission vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of route driving techniques and navigation systems.
- Excellent load unloading skills with attention to detail for securing cargo properly.
- Good communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and regulations in commercial driving.
