The Solutions Architect will serve as a trusted technical advisor to our clients, helping them design and implement resilient data infrastructure strategies. You will work closely with the sales team to understand client needs around storage, backup, disaster recovery, and cloud redundancy, aligning those needs with our solution portfolio. This role requires a strong blend of technical depth, consultative selling skills, and the ability to communicate complex infrastructure concepts in terms of business value.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the sales team and account managers to identify and develop customer leads from a technical perspective, supporting the full pre-sales lifecycle.
- Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-value (PoV) exercises for prospective and existing clients focused on storage, backup, and cloud redundancy solutions.
- Having a background in enterprise backup, recovery, DR, business continuity utilizing cloud storage and targets for backup
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the storage and data protection portfolio, including on-premises storage systems, backup and recovery platforms, and cloud-based redundancy architectures.
- Act as a subject matter expert for clients on storage architecture best practices, including SAN, NAS, object storage, hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI), and hybrid/multi-cloud environments.
- Design and present tailored solution architectures that address client requirements for data availability, RPO/RTO objectives, retention policies, and compliance mandates.
- Analyze and respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs), delivering detailed and persuasive technical documentation.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and the competitive landscape across storage, backup, and cloud services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendor partners, and internal teams, serving as the go-to technical resource during the pre-sales process.
- Maintain relevant industry and partner certifications across the storage and cloud portfolio.
- Experience with cloud storage design and strategies.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience:
- 3–6 years of experience in a pre-sales, solutions engineering, or technical consulting role with a focus on storage, backup, or data protection.
- Hands-on knowledge of enterprise storage platforms (e.g., NetApp, Pure Storage, Dell/EMC, HPE Nimble/Primera, or equivalent).
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik, Cohesity, Zerto, or equivalent).
- Solid understanding of cloud storage and redundancy architectures across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiarity with data protection compliance requirements and frameworks relevant to storage environments (e.g., HIPAA, PCI-DSS, NIST).
- Proficiency in conducting technical presentations and solution demonstrations to diverse audiences including IT staff and executive stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value.
- Experience responding to RFPs/RFIs and preparing high-quality technical documentation and solution proposals.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with hyperconverged infrastructure platforms (e.g., Nutanix, VMware vSAN, Microsoft Azure Stack HCI).
- Understanding of SAN/NAS protocols including FC, iSCSI, NFS, and SMB/CIFS.
- Exposure to security considerations in storage environments, including data encryption at rest and in transit, immutable backups, and ransomware recovery strategies.
- Relevant vendor or industry certifications such as NetApp NCDA, Veeam VMCA, AWS Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator, or similar.
- Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple customer engagements simultaneously.
