Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, assembling, and repairing metal structures and components with precision and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise in various welding techniques and fabrication processes will contribute to high-quality projects across construction sites and manufacturing environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse materials, interpret technical drawings, and utilize advanced measuring tools to deliver exceptional craftsmanship.
Duties
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to ensure accurate assembly and welding.
- Perform welding operations using FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) techniques in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards.
- Fabricate metal components from pipe, structural steel, and other metal materials utilizing plasma cutting, machining, and power tools.
- Measure materials precisely using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to meet project specifications.
- Assemble fabricated parts through welding, bolting, or riveting while adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Operate construction site equipment such as cranes when necessary for lifting heavy materials or assemblies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and proper handling of all tools and materials.
Requirements
- Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of safety protocols.
- Proficiency in multiple welding techniques including FCAW, MIG, TIG, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings accurately.
- Experience working with sheet metal fabrication, structural steel, and metal materials in a fabrication shop or construction setting.
- Skilled in the use of measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math for precise fabrication work.
- Mechanical knowledge of assembly processes involving hand tools, power tools, machining equipment, plasma cutters, and other fabrication tools.
- Familiarity with construction site operations including crane handling is a plus.
- Strong adherence to safety standards as outlined by OSHA or relevant local regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical instructions clearly.
