American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit float pool position requiring compact/NC RN licensure and ACLS/NIHSS certification.
-
Hospital-based float pool position covering Progressive Care/Stepdown units including Surgical, Neuro, Medicine, Cardiac, Cardiovascular, and Burn Center
-
May also float to acute care units as needed

Patient ratios generally 1:3 to 1:4 on PCU/Stepdown units, and 1:5 on acute care units when floating
-
Night shift schedule: 7:00pm - 7:00am

36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week

0.9 FTE position

Every other weekend (EOW) required

Every other holiday (EOH) required

No on-call requirements

Active RN license in North Carolina (Standard or Compact) required

Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS

Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience required

Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required

BSN or MSN preferred

Provide competent clinical nursing care in a progressive care/stepdown setting, reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director

Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process for patients with complex medical needs
-
Perform bedside point of care testing as required for patient care plans
-
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient care and promote continuity of care
-
Assess and address patient/family discharge planning needs, including psychosocial, educational, and safety considerations

Participate in unit performance improvement activities and professional growth initiatives
-
Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment
