Our ranch is looking to hire a new riding instructor to join the Firefly team! This position is Part-Time to start, but will can move into a Full-Time position over the summer months starting around May. Looking for someone to start ASAP!
Hours will consist of facilitating weekday and Saturday individual and/or group lessons, as well as feeding/chore shifts semi-regularly. MUST HAVE WEEKEND AVAILABILITY (Saturday's).
Occasionally this position may work additional hours as needed to help facilitate Day Camps, Retreats, and other ranch related activities. Therefore, plenty of open availability is key!
RESPONSIBILITES & DUTIES:
- Facilitating private, semi-private, & group riding lessons, equine assisted learning or riding experiences.
- Feeding (Hay & Grain/Supplements) all animals upon the property - horses, goats, chickens, cats, ducks, sheep, pigs, mini-horses, mini-donkeys, chinchillas, etc.
- Completing barn chores around regular lesson times on a weekly & monthly schedule.
- Ability to work alone and as a team member.
- Communication is a MUST.
- General horse care & knowledge is a MUST.
- Need to be able to notice differences in behavior with horses or animals; seeing signs of colic, new wounds, etc.
- Prior experience instructing is preferred.
- Prior experience working with both kids & adults is preferred.
We like to have fun here at Firefly and looking for someone who is like-minded in our holistic approach to riding lessons & the company overall. Everyday may look a little different as far as tasks around the farm go so we are looking for a hard worker who works well on a team as well as individually.
This is NOT the job for you if you are someone who doesn't enjoy working around kids or animals.
Hours & schedule can be flexible, primarily looking for someone with availability Tuesday-Saturday.
Example Schedule:
- Tuesday - Friday: 9:30 am - 6pm
- Saturday: 9am - 5pm
Wage is DOE, $17-$20 starting and during probation period but able to receive raises depending on experience and education.
