We are seeking an experienced Straddle Lift Crane Operator/Rigger to join our team. This position plays a critical role in loading and unloading oversized and heavy haul components, including generator enclosures weighing up to 140,000 lbs. Preference will be given to candidates who can operate 2250 Manitowoc's and are NCCCO certified.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate straddle lift crane to safely load and unload oversized freight
- Handle generator enclosures and other heavy components up to 140,000 lbs
- Perform precise placement of loads onto trailers and staging areas
- Inspect and verify rigging prior to all lifts
- Work closely with ground crew, drivers, and project managers to ensure safe operations
- Maintain equipment and report any operational or safety concerns
Requirements:
- Verified rigging experience is required
- Proven experience operating straddle lift cranes (or similar heavy lift equipment)
- Strong understanding of load securement and weight distribution
- Ability to read lift plans and follow detailed instructions
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all protocols
- Experience in heavy haul or oversized freight operations preferred
