Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and organized Host/Hostess to join our vibrant team! In this pivotal role, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring they feel welcomed and valued from the moment they arrive. Your friendly demeanor, excellent communication skills, and ability to manage reservations efficiently will set the tone for an outstanding dining experience. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your hospitality skills in a dynamic setting.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly as they arrive, creating a positive first impression
- Manage restaurant reservations and waitlists using restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Escort guests to their tables promptly and assist with seating arrangements
- Answer incoming phone calls with professionalism, providing information about wait times and reservation availability while practicing proper phone etiquette
- Maintain organized waiting lists and communicate effectively with guests regarding their seating status
- Support guest relations by addressing inquiries and ensuring guest comfort throughout their visit
- Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization of the host station and dining area
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a host/hostess or in food service is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and a positive attitude are essential
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with guests and team members
- Excellent organizational skills to manage reservations, waitlists, and guest flow efficiently
- Knowledge of restaurant reservation management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Basic math skills for handling seating calculations and POS transactions
- Experience with customer service, guest relations, and phone etiquette in hospitality settings
- Familiarity with food safety standards and hospitality best practices is desirable
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and friendliness
