Job Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Heavy Equipment Operator and play a vital role in excavation projects ranging from small scale demolition to large scale multi-month clearing. You will operate a variety of heavy machinery e.g. excavators, mini-excavators, skid steers, backhoes, etc. We’re looking for experienced individuals who have an extensive background in heavy machinery operation in a wide variety of areas.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery such as skid steers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, etc. to perform tasks including grading, lifting, digging, and material transport
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are maintained throughout the project
- Assist with site preparation by clearing debris, leveling ground, and preparing foundations for construction work
- Collaborate with team members to execute project plans efficiently while adhering to safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Maintain accurate operation logs and report any equipment issues or safety concerns promptly
- Support other construction activities involving farm machinery or specialized vehicles as needed
Skills
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, and other machinery listed above
- Solid understanding of construction site safety procedures and best practices
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues quickly and effectively
- Valid commercial driver’s license with experience driving heavy trucks including dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, front loader trucks, and tanker vehicles
- Familiarity with construction materials and processes related to concrete mixing and site preparation
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining focus on safety and productivity
- Strong teamwork skills combined with a proactive attitude toward learning new techniques and equipment operation
Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
