Alexander Mechanical is a growing family-owned company seeking a motivated, reliable, and customer-focused Maintenance Technician to join our HVAC service team. This position plays a critical role in maintaining and servicing HVAC equipment for our valued customers while providing exceptional customer service and building strong client relationships.
The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and possess a strong work ethic. This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring customer equipment operates efficiently and reliably.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on commercial and residential HVAC equipment.
- Change and maintain air filters according to customer maintenance schedules.
- Test electrical components and verify proper operation of HVAC systems.
- Perform basic diagnostics and identify potential equipment issues during maintenance visits.
- Document maintenance activities, findings, and recommendations accurately and thoroughly.
- Maintain organized inventory and storage of filters, maintenance materials, and related supplies.
- Complete customer paperwork, maintenance reports, and service records in a timely manner.
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment conditions and maintenance recommendations.
- Maintain positive customer relationships and represent Alexander Mechanical in a professional manner.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist Service Technicians with repairs and service work as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of HVAC experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and preventative maintenance procedures.
- Ability to safely use testing equipment and perform basic electrical component checks.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage daily maintenance schedules.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- OSHA 10 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders, work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and confined spaces as needed.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
