The Role
As Kennel Manager, you are responsible for leading daily operations, setting the standard for care, and ensuring both dogs and clients receive a consistent, high-quality experience. This is a leadership position for someone who thrives in a structured environment and isn’t afraid to take ownership.
This role requires a high level of responsibility and availability. As the leader of the facility, you must be willing to step in when needed to support your team and the dogs in our care.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency, cleanliness, and consistency
- Lead, coach, and hold staff accountable to K9 Clubhouse standards
- Maintain strict infection control and facility cleanliness protocols
- Manage client communication, resolving concerns with professionalism and confidence
- Enforce health and safety procedures for both staff and dogs
- Monitor staff performance and conduct regular team meetings
- Work alongside ownership to improve systems, increase efficiency, and drive growth
- Support sales initiatives and help grow boarding, daycare, and training services
- Be available to step in for shift coverage and handle unexpected situations when necessary
What We’re Looking For
- Proven leadership experience (kennel, pet care, or similar industry preferred)
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to lead from the front
- Confident communicator who can manage both staff and clients effectively
- High standards when it comes to cleanliness, organization, and dog handling
- Ability to multitask and stay composed in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable using POS systems and basic business software
- Experience with dog behavior and group management is a strong asset
