DEAN OF MIDDLE SCHOOL
JOB SUMMARY
The 6th-8th Dean of Middle School is critical in ensuring that all students receive the support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This position oversees student data, develops and implements student intervention and behavior plans, and collaborates with educators, families, and support staff to enhance student success. The Dean of Middle School will also support Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and other student support initiatives while fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Student DataProgress Monitoring
- Oversee student data collection, analysis, and utilization to inform interventions.

Collaborate with the counselor and other leaders to support students with tier 2 behavior.

Maintain records for student intervention plans, progress reports, and assessments.

Lead grade-level Data Inquiry Teams.
Student InterventionSupport Plans

Develop, implement, and monitor intervention plans to support students needing academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support.

Support the implementation of MTSS and Response to Intervention (RtI) frameworks.

Collaborate with special education staff to ensure students with IEPs and 504 Plans receive appropriate interventions.

Work with teachers and support staff to implement evidence-based interventions.
CollaborationLeadership

Lead intervention team meetings and case conferences to discuss student progress and determine appropriate support strategies.

Provide professional development and coaching to staff on best practices for interventions.

Communicate regularly with families about student progress and strategies for at-home support.

Collaborate with school counselors, social workers, and other support staff to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
BehavioralSocial-Emotional Support

Support the implementation of positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) and restorative practices.

Work closely with teachers and staff to address behavioral concerns through proactive interventions.

Assist in the development of individualized behavior support plans as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS Required:
-
Bachelor's degree in education, special education, counseling, or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in education, with a focus on student interventions or support services.

Experience with student data analysis, intervention planning, and progress monitoring.

Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and community partners.
Preferred:

Master's degree in education, special education, school counseling, or a related field.

Experience with MTSS, RTI, IEPs, and behavior intervention plans.

Knowledge of restorative justice practices and PBIS.
-
Colorado teaching or administrative license.

COMPENSATION:

Salary Range: $69,00 - $75,000
